Life doesn’t always go the way we expect. Dreams we had for our loved ones come to an end, relationships fall apart and our hearts are left with such heaviness. The weight of grief, disappointment, and pain can feel like too much to carry. But Isaiah 61:3 reminds us of something powerful: God can take the broken pieces of our lives and turn them into something beautiful.

Do you ever just sit in the dark and think about the special person who is no longer in your world?

Losing Desiree has definitely changed me. There are days when the grief feels so heavy, like I can barely breathe. It comes in waves sometimes quiet, sometimes overwhelming but always present in some way.

The drugs on the streets have changed drastically over the last few years. People call it an overdose as if it is self- explanatory. As if the word tells the individual’s story from beginning to end. The word overdose represents the person doing too much, went too far, or simple crossed the line.
